Head coach, Martin Ho spoke to the media ahead of the team’s clash against Brighton and Hove Albion this weekend.

Energetic and relentless in her pressing, she not only pushes her team forward in attack but also sets the tone defensively. Still young, she continues to grow in confidence and consistency, emerging as an exciting talent capable of influencing big moments for her team.

Chelsea Women moved to the top of the Barclays Women’s Super League table after an early goal from Aggie Beever-Jones at Kingsmeadow.

Beever-Jones struck in the 7th minute, pouncing on a loose ball in the box and firing a right-footed effort high into the net. It was her seventh of the campaign, underlining her status as Chelsea’s most prolific forward this season. 

The Blues had lost just one of their previous forty-nine home league matches (forty-six wins, two draws) and extended their unbeaten WSL run to twenty-eight games, their last defeat coming against Liverpool in May 2024.

Nike has strengthened its relationship with women’s football in England by extending its sponsorship of the Barclays Women’s Super League. 

As part of the new five-year deal, the sportswear giant will provide free boots to every player across WSL and Barclays WSL 2 football. With the exception of those already in partnership with another brand for football boots. It is believed that already over two-hundred-and-fifty players have already signed up to the initiative, with the promise of access to sufficient sporting equipment.

Cathinka Tandberg is a twenty-one-year-old forward for Tottenham Hotspur Women. The Norwegian international signed for Spurs a few weeks ago.

Manchester City Women kicked off their home campaign in the 2025/26 Barclays Women’s Super League season against Brighton & Hove Albion Women.

Both teams worked hard on the pitch to try and secure three points to stand them in good stead for the season ahead. Neither City nor Brighton had a win in the opening weekend, so this was a test of resilience and ambition under the lights at the Joie Stadium.

Manchester City Women are looking to take on Brighton & Hove Albion to kick off their 2025/26 campaign on home soil in the Barclays Women’s Super League, at the Joie Stadium.  

The last time these teams faced Manchester City took the three points in a 2-1 win. Kerstin Caspariji opened the scoring, assisted by teammate Khadija Bunny Shaw, followed by a Vivianne Miedema volley. Brighton reacted time and time again last season, elevating their tempo and attacking more frequently on the counter. However, they could not do enough to find two goals ahead of the final whistle.
