Gabby Logan inspires as new Bloomsbury Football ambassador
Earlier this week, sports broadcaster, Gabby Logan became an ambassador for the Bloomsbury Football Foundation, inspiring a better future for girls in sports.
Founded in 2018, the charity aims to encourages participation in football of 10,000 girls by 2028. Currently over 6,500 young people are involved with the foundation each week.
Central to the charity is the ambition of providing young people with better access to high-quality football sessions. Regardless of background, gender or ability, every child deserves the opportunity to participate in sports.
Ambition and growth
Since 2018, Bloomsbury Football has seen rapid growth and scaled significantly in the number of young people involved with the charity. Logan will support the charity in fulfilling their 2023 – 2028 Strategy, investing in the increased engagement of children in football, especially young girls.
As part of her role, Logan will attend and head fundraising events, promoting the charity and the work the foundation does to improve children’s health on many levels: both mentally and physically.
Through the foundation, a community spirit is achieved, whilst young people are equipped with better techniques to navigate the challenges of everyday life. Logan will attend sessions to encourage and support the children as they participate in football sessions, building confidence and prioritising both their physical and mental health.
This is another step Bloomsbury Football have taken to empower females in sport and encourage better participation for young people within football regardless of challenges faced in everyday life.
Speaking on her new role
Speaking on her new role with the Bloomsbury Football Foundation, Logan was complimentary of the charity’s growth and ambition:
“Witnessing first-hand the rapid growth of women’s football and the Lionesses’ historic success over the years has further strengthened my commitment to championing equal opportunities in sport. I’m delighted to be supporting Bloomsbury Football Foundation’s mission in helping more young girls across London access the transformative power of football, while inspiring the next generation to follow their dreams both on and off the pitch.”
The Founder and CEO of Bloomsbury Football, Charlie Hyman, also added that it is a privilege to have the experienced broadcaster on board:
“Welcoming Gabby as an ambassador is another significant step in supporting our goal to increase female participation across our programmes. Throughout her career, Gabby has been a powerful advocate for providing equal opportunities to sport and the life-changing benefits it brings. I’m excited about the impact she will have as we work together to transform the lives of thousands of young people through the magic of football.”
